Blake vs. Woodinville guy

Tuesday was the Redmond vs. Woodinville match. It was long, but very exciting. If Woodinville won they would have been district champs. A few of our guys were hurt, or on academic probation so our team was a little weaker than normal, but they ended up winning the match. They now need to win their next match in order to be district champs. So far they are undefeated. Blake did great. He had a few pinning combinations earlier against this guy but one he ran out of time, and the other the guy got out of. He finally got the pin about half way through the second period. Good job Blake! (I have a good video of the pin but I cant get it to upload.)

Blake vs. Ballard

Blake of course pinned the Ballard guy. It was relatively quick and painless. Well at least for Blake. After the match when the teams were shaking hands the guy that he wrestled said to him, "Are you the 189?" He said "yeah" and the Ballard guy said, "You chiped my tooth." but he said it as though he were almost proud or something. Blake didn't really know what to say so he just said "Uh, sorry" and continued shaking peoples hands. lol.

Sorry that the pictures are so bad. The camera does not like the overhead spot light.

Ballard Boo Boo

Here is a picture that Mickayla drew while we were at the Ballard wrestling match on Thursday evening. As you can see the Redmond guy (probably Blake) is winning, and is about to pin the Ballard guy. There is even a ref in the picture. The animal on the side is a Redmond Mustang. Dad thinks it looks like the mustang is pooping on the Ballard guys face. Dad and I laughed so hard at this picture. It's so great! Good job Mickayla!

Blake vs. Inglemoore 215lb

Wednesday night Redmond wrestled the Inglemoore team, who is very well known for their wrestling program. Redmond came to the meet undefeated and Inglemoore had only one loss. It was a very exciting match, and one of my favorites so far. The whole team did amazing. They were even confident enough in the strength of their guys that they bumped everyone up one weight class in order to fill a void. (Ty Campbell, the heavy weight, flunked one of his classes so they had to kinda rearrange to fill in for him.) Which caused Blake to have to wrestle a guy in the 215 weight class. Which means the guy had about a 25 weight advantage. Blake did awesome though and showed the guy who was the boss. It was an exciting match!

I guess Blake was moving at the speed of light when I took this picture of him taking a shot.

Getting the pin!

And the Win!

Ride home From Moses Lake

This is out of order. Erin drove Blake, John Burke and Mickayla home from the Moses Lake tournament. Blake and John helped put chains on the car. A good thing for them to know how to do! It was a crazy ride home. You'll have to check the rest of our blogs to get more of the story.

Blake looked like a wounded warrior after his first match at the Moses Lake tournament. He cut his head on the kids head gear. The cut wasn't that bad, but it sure bleed a lot. The ref had to stop the match even though Blake was pinning the boy. Blake was just bleeding all over the place and they couldn't let him continue. Blake then pinned the boy in the next period

Blake did very well at Moses Lake. He won both of his matches. He shared his matches with Jeff Geddes.

Blake choose to stay home for New Years Eve. We all had a great time with long sparklers. We celebrated early so Will could have fun with us.

Blake did an amazing job the last time he wrestled. He was wrestling against Bothell. He pinned the guy in like 12 seconds. It was so fast that I didn't even get a chance to get my camera ready to take pictures.

Blake took second at the Lynnwood tournament. He was a little disappointed but he did very well. He lost his last match, to take second. His friend John Burke took third.
