Food Glorious Food

The missionaries and I were invited to dinner at a families house. When we got there we saw an amazing spread of food. Steak, egg salad, bread, refried beans and salad. I dished up a large plate with some of everything on it. My plate was completely full but apparently it wasn't full enough. The grandmother, who had cooked the meal, insisted that I needed more steak. So she put a second steak on my plate that was even bigger than the first. She also decided that I needed more bread. Well I ate it all. I was impressed with myself and I think everyone else was pretty impressed too, but then the unthinkable happened, desert. A chocolate cake with vanilla frosting, coconut sprinkles and strawberries on the side. I already felt like I might burst but I'm no quitter, so I ate an enormous piece of cake and a few of the biggest strawberries I have ever seen. Needless to say I was full for days.

HAHAHAHAHAHA! This is true missionary training! People consider it a game to see how much they can get you to eat. Well done! I guess this means you're officially ready for the field. :)

Good job Blake! I wish I could have watched you eat all of that.

Ahhh, American food! It sounds fabulous. If I ever get over the effects of the tap water from Taipei I may have some.
